It's Wednesday!

No, not Wednesday, as in the third weekday. By "Wednesday", I mean my O.C. (original character). Considering that I post so much about other people's DeviantArt.com galleries, I thought it'd be cool if I introduced you guys to mine. You can catch her over at my DeviantArt.com account: AnEarnestSmile. She's a panda, no matter how much she doesn't look like one. Her favorite thing to do is wonder. She's young and has as much curiosity as a cat! Her daily costume includes a black dress and a yellow bow. I like the colors yellow and black; they remind me of life (yellow = light, while black = darkness). For her hair, she has a puffy bang with two side buns. If you like her, thanks - it means a lot. I upload new photos of her all the time, so (if you're interested) watch me. The photo on the left was drawn yesterday and is, right now, my most recent drawing of Wednesday. Like all my Wednesday drawings, this one is inspired by a quote.

If you're looking for something interesting, keep reading. As I was glancing at the recent uploaded photos on DeviantArt.com's homepage, I came across something wonderful - the photo on the left! I found the photo so marvelous that I simply had to check out the artist's gallery, in order to see what other outstanding master pieces they had to offer. To my surprise, there was hardly any artwork in their gallery at all - but for a reason. The artist once had many uploads but recently deleted all of them, in order to organize their gallery. All of her photos should be nicely re-uploaded any day now. Until then, how about a mini interview with the talented, young artist? My interview with, "icy-soul", the artist, is below.

Just an adorable necklace I stumbled across, on Amazon.com, by the wonderful Betsey Johnson. Considering that it has a doll formed charm on it, I thought it only made since to talk about it on here. The doll is so cute; I love her rosy cheeks. As you can see, it's $55.00 - but look at it! Definitely something to put on your "wishlist." ~ Lola

I love when people give their dolls little stories, so meet Valtiel. He's an 18 year old male with an adventurous life that you'll find out about later on in this post. Right now, lets talk about his owner for a moment. His owner's name is Devon and is a 19 year old male from Norway. When I told him that I wanted his doll photos and possibly an interview, he was very nice about it and responded to all my questions super quickly. The mini interview is below.

There are more changes to come, so keep your good eye open! As I was away from this blog, I was working on a few other blogs. They were, like, sequels of this blog. I was eventually going to link my new blogs on here, so you guys could tell me what you think of then, but they didn't turn out as great as I thought they were. I'm done creating new blogs, for now, and am really going to try to update this one a lot more often. I have quite a few new ideas for it, and - considering that summer's here - I'll have a lot of free time, and may even be able to update at least once a day. Huge thanks to everyone who has still been visiting my blog; it's a pleasure to see that this blog still has a few people visiting everyday, even tho' I haven't updated it in over a month. She lives all the way over in Finland, but - thanks to the internet - I was able to get in touch with her. She's not only an artist with paper but with her hair, as well. I've never done anything really interesting with my hair before, but this kind of inspires me to one day! Not only was Aliisa sweet enough to let me share her photos on her, she also let me interview her - about her fabulous hair! The interview is below.

The doll owner's name is Kristina, which is funny because this doll's look reminded me of a look Christina Aguilera had in one of the scene's for her music video "Fighter". It was during the bridge, I think. She had on this white dress, her hair was white, and her makeup had this dusty white vibe to it, and it was just really cool. This doll photo definitely has emotion within it, and so I was curious of what Kristina was thinking when she took this photo. Fortunately, she was so kind and answered all of my questions in the little interview below. See for yourself!

Hello, dolls! I hope you're all doing well. It's been a while since my last blog update, and there's a reason for that. Firstly, the photo on the left is drawn by a DeviantArt.com member named Jodie. She created this work of art with alcohol based markers, water-colored ink, colored pencils, fineliner pigment ink, and a Bristol board. Isn't it simply amazing? I cannot believe this was drawn by hand; it looks so digital - just unbelievable, really. Another one of those "hidden-pathway" photos. There have been a whole lot of doll photos on this blog lately, so I'm super grateful to have found this lovely nature photo and, also, the permission to share it with you guys. I really love this photo; it just looks so real and beautiful, and it makes me think of the song "Home" by Daughtry - which is, like, one of the best songs ever. If you've never heard it, you need to hear it.... because the melody is really good and the lyrics are pretty amazing. Okay, back to the post. I was able to get an interview with the photographer of this photo, and she was so nice and cheerful. I think the interview went very well, but tell me - what do you guys think? I love this drawing so much; it's sad in the cutest way. My most favorite part is definitely the teddy bear. It reminds me of a teddy bear I really want on GaiaOnilne.com for my avatar; it's gray, and it has a sad look to it - just like the one you see here. I used to love teddy bears; they were up there with dolls, on my favorite toy list. I'm going to try to post more often about teddy bears, because they're very similar to dolls, and so I surmise a lot of you would probably like to see them on here. Now, back to the post. The artist's name is Sarah, and the little girl in the drawing's name is Abby. Words from the artist (about the drawing): "This is one of my characters, Abby, when she was a toddler. Having been abandoned at the boarding school hours after she was born, she grew up under the care of the school's owner - Heath. He actually adopted her and loved her as he would his own daughter.

Abby had the same nightmare, everytime she fell asleep, for as long as she could remember. Being frightened, she wanted to hug Heath. Her toy panda wasn't good enough anymore. It took Abby weeks to gather the strength and courage to ask Heath if she could sleep next to him because she was scared he would say 'NO, GO BACK TO BED.'

One night, Abby was quite surprised and felt very stupid when Heath said; 'Of course you can sweetie.'"

Broken Dollies

Greetings, dollies! Okay, so things have changed with this blog since yesterday; mainly just the template, but there are a few new "add-ons" that I'd like to point out.

Firstly, right besides the welcoming sign, there's a banner for "Invisible Children" - which is a very good organization to stop the abduction of children for use as child soldiers. To learn more about it, visit "InvisibleChildren.com". Oh, and while you're at my blog, please, click the "Invisible Children" banner I have up; it's free and each click will help earn school fees for an Ugandan child.

Secondly, there's a new chatbox; stroll down to the very bottom of the page, and you can't miss it. I added it there for you guys, so I really hope you use it. Thirdly, there's a poll almost directly above the new chatbox - vote! Fourthly, meet Mini-Lola; she's the blog's new mascot thingy, so you should be seeing a lot of her on here soon. Finally, last but not least, fifthly, I've changed the blog's title a bit - from *Dolls+Stuffs* to ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ *Dolls+Stuffs: Broken Dollies* ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ (ignore the hearts, please - long story). I thought *Dolls+Stuffs* just sounded way too childish, and it's not that there's anything wrong with that, but it just wasn't for me. Since changing the URL could cause confusion to some who may visit daily but aren't following, I've decided to keep the "dolls and stuffs" thing and simply just add "Broken Dollies" on the side. An older post I did, with someone over at GaiaOnline.com, was one of the main reasons for why I added "Broken Dollies" onto the title. The post was titled "Love Will Always Find You". There was an interview included in that post, and what inspired me was the way the girl answered the question "What inspired you to take this picture?"; her answer was....

"I love how beauty can be perceived in many different ways, I wanted to capture something where something as pretty and delicate as a doll can show that even if a person has a few cracks and missing pieces they can still be beautiful and accomplish love, or even find it in the most obscure way possible."

Okay, I love this. Look at this; is this an amazing work of art or what? Seriously, there's so much meaning within this photo: dark, sad, mysterious, wistful, fearless - I could go on and on. My very favorite part about this doll is, by far, his eyes; I love the color, and I don't even know what color they are - gold, maybe? All I know is that they're so round and so shiny, and I love them! The doll's name is Muse, and yes: he's a boy. Oh, and P.S. I got a little interview with Muse's owner - must read!

What would you describe your DeviantArt gallery as?: My world, my thoughts and myself.

Where does the inspiration for all your beautiful photos come from?: From anywhere. I get my inspiration from all things around me, but Japan and the band Plastic Tree are two big inspirations.

What do you like about dolls?: You can create them as you want and give them a whole own life. Make an own story with them.

Greetings, dollies - how are you?

Doesn't this photo look like a paparazzi photo? I love it! It brings back memories of an old post I did way back in August titled "Nao's the Name". The doll's name is Brailey, and her (very nice) owner's name is Mika. There's a fun interview with Mika below - lets read!

--What inspired you to take this picture?: It was raining outside, and I loved the lighting through the windows. ;)

Besides dolls, what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?: Almost anything! My dogs, Myself, friends, other dolls, stuff like that!

What type of dolls are those in the picture (Barbie, Blythe, Bratz, etc....)?: She is a 27cm Obitsu Nano-Haruka.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the picture?: Nope, this is exactly how the picture turned out.

Random, but if you and Brailey could travel anywhere in the world - where would it be?: Oh, that's a tough one! I'd say Italy, because of all the different looks and smells. :3-- The End.

What a pretty look! The artist describes it as doll-like. For those of you who would like to borrow her fabulous look, I suggest you read keep reading - an interview with the artist is below!

What inspired this "doll makeup" look?: Inspired me few things: porcelain and Luts dolls and my new fake eyelashes. Besides I love delicate and girly look.

What brands of makeup did you use for it? What types of makeup (blush, lip gloss, etc)?: All cosmetics that I use: Under eye concealer - Inglot nr LC 1, Foundation - Faberlic nr 6047, Loose powder - Inglot nr 04, eyeshadow - Bourjois Ombre stretch nr 02, black eyeliner - Oriflame Stylo, lipstick - Inglot nr 910, and like a blush I use pink eyeshadow from MAC 120 palette. I wear also fake eyelashes from Inglot and individual eyelashes from Sephora.

Are you wearing some sort of contact lenses in the photo?: I'm not wearing contact lenses - it is Photoshoop effect (High Pass Sharpen). :)-- The End.

I wish the artist would've made a YouTube video of herself putting it on; that would've been real fun to watch! You guys, look what I came across!

Is this doll adorable or what? The hair, the makeup, the clothes - look at him! The doll's name is Kris. For plenty more photos, check out the owner of Kris' DeviantArt gallery - so-fiii. My very favorite thing about Kris is definitely his style because, like Kris' owner stated in the interview below, it's just so colorful and unique! What inspired Kris' look?: seriously I don't know XD One day I decided that I want him to be a colorful boy with unique sense of fashion. Originally I wanted him to be way more emo but I'm really really happy that he has become like this. :3

What type of doll is Kris (Barbie, Blythe, Bratz, etc....)?: Kris is an Asian ball jointed doll (BJD) made of resin.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the Kris photos?: yes, I use PS CS4 (and wish that one day I will actually learn how to use it...>.<) Random, but if Kris had a favorite music band - which music band would it be?: hehe Kris actually has a favourite music band- his boyfriends' (oh yes :d).

I really like this photo; it's so nice - and so was the photographer of it! Her name is Amanda, and she allowed me to share her wondrous photo with all of you, and I just had so many questions about it; I asked her if she'd be willing to answer a few of them, and yeah - she did. The interview is below! Please, read the whole thing; I loved it and think you guys will, as well.

What inspired you to take this picture?: The layout of the trees that seemed to look like a pathway to a hidden world.

Besides trees, what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?: I enjoy taking pictures of animals, people, architecture, spontaneous moments - emotional and emotive scenes.

What type of trees are those in the picture?: Coniferous, pine trees, maple, lots of shrubs.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the picture?: I used Adobe Elements 5.0 & Nik Color Efex Pro 2.0 to achieve the desired effects.

Random, but what's your favorite time of the day (dawn, twilight, sunrise, morning, noon, afternoon, evening, sunset, twilight, dusk, night, or midnight)?: I prefer sunset and twilight hours. They tend to turn out the best overlays with the sky when doing outdoor/nature photography. Not too bright, not too dark and you can actually enhance the colors to change the mood at those hours.-- The End.
