* You Will Never Know *

Photo Courtesy of the Lovely "icy-soul(.deviantart.com)"
If you're looking for something interesting, keep reading. As I was glancing at the recent uploaded photos on DeviantArt.com's homepage, I came across something wonderful - the photo on the left! I found the photo so marvelous that I simply had to check out the artist's gallery, in order to see what other outstanding master pieces they had to offer. To my surprise, there was hardly any artwork in their gallery at all - but for a reason. The artist once had many uploads but recently deleted all of them, in order to organize their gallery. All of her photos should be nicely re-uploaded any day now. Until then, how about a mini interview with the talented, young artist? My interview with, "icy-soul", the artist, is below.

* Look Around *

Okay, so I've changed a couple of things here:
  • #1, URL/title
  • #2, Template
There are more changes to come, so keep your good eye open! As I was away from this blog, I was working on a few other blogs. They were, like, sequels of this blog. I was eventually going to link my new blogs on here, so you guys could tell me what you think of then, but they didn't turn out as great as I thought they were. I'm done creating new blogs, for now, and am really going to try to update this one a lot more often. I have quite a few new ideas for it, and - considering that summer's here - I'll have a lot of free time, and may even be able to update at least once a day. Huge thanks to everyone who has still been visiting my blog; it's a pleasure to see that this blog still has a few people visiting everyday, even tho' I haven't updated it in over a month. I'll probably share a few of the posts I created over at my sequel blogs on here, through out the week, so (like I said) keep your good eye open! - Lola

Hello, dolls! I hope you're all doing well. It's been a while since my last blog update, and there's a reason for that. Firstly, the photo on the left is drawn by a DeviantArt.com member named Jodie. She created this work of art with alcohol based markers, water-colored ink, colored pencils, fineliner pigment ink, and a Bristol board. Isn't it simply amazing? I cannot believe this was drawn by hand; it looks so digital - just unbelievable, really. If you're a member of DeviantArt.com, don't forget to show Jodie some love by favorite-ing + commenting on her lovely photo. Okay, now, about the blog,

1 Candle Can Brighten the Whole Room

When I first saw this photo, I thought "This is a pretty fantastic shot, but it's not doll related - at all." I mean, really, there's no doll in this photo. The human in this photo isn't even trying to impersonate a doll in anyway. There's no doll vibe to this, but then I realized that this blog isn't titled "Dolls" nor "Dolls+Dolls"; it's titled "Dolls+Stuffs" - "Stuffs" is part of the title, therefore, I think it's time I start posting less about dolls and more about other stuff, such as.... black and while photos featuring candles! I got an interview with the photographer/model of this oh so very clever photo. The quick interview is below!

--
What inspired you to take this picture?: It was actually for a black and white contest that's supposed to evoke some kind of emotion. I was kind of going for bit of an enchanted feel (:

Besides people (and candles), what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?: Anything and everything that catches my interest, but I'm more or less a nature photographer with a love for macro and close-ups (:

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the picture?: I used Photoshop CS3 for this photo, as with the majority of the rest of my photographs. I usually play with levels and contrast and exposure and do a slight color tweak.

Do you have a favorite time (morning, afternoon, evening, etc) to take pictures? If so, what is it?: Hm... afternoon. Morning is too early and I can't get that great of lighting in the evening, haha--

There, wasn't this nice for a change? I must say tho', I don't want this blog to fill up with total randomness. Randomness is awesome, but I'd like this blog to have.... more of a theme, you know? Which is why I decided that I'm going to try to keep this blog at in artsy status: music, fashion, photographer - and so much more! Tons of "stuffs" is on the way, you guys, so please - stick around! Also, don't forget to check out all of the other amazing photos that girl (in the photo above) has at irainbow-unicorn.deviantart.com!

"She is a Golden Keepsake Tassel Doll"

Photo Courtesy of GaiaOnline.com's member, "Spork Bandit"
Isn't this amazing? I love her pose + of course, her wardrobe! It looks like she's at some kind of exciting event. I also love the gold-ish colored lighting - it only brings more excitement to the photo. As you guys probably guessed; I got an interview with the photograph/owner of this fantastic photo. The quick interview is below!

--What inspired you to take this picture?:
Well, I guess I would say that my other doll did. I have another one sort of like her, and I don't like the way her arms are posed as much as this one, so I shot Tahirah instead.

Besides dolls, what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?:
I love taking pictures of nature, but mostly just waterfalls and flowers.

What type of dolls are those in the picture (Barbie, Blythe, Bratz, etc....)?:
She is a Golden Keepsake Tassel Doll.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the picture?:
No, I did not.

Well, thank you so much for your time. :) I truly appreciate it!:
It's no problem.

A
Golden Keepsake Tassel Doll? I'll have to look into that; sounds quite interesting. If I find anything good on those dolls - I'll be sure to share it with you guys, so stick around.

The Lives of Dolls

Isn't this incredible? When I first saw this picture, I knew I wanted to share it on this blog, but I really didn't expect to figure out who the lovely picture rightfully belonged to, but luckily - I was wrong. It belonged to a very nice, young woman who was kind enough to, not only let me post up her picture, but to ask her a few questions about it, as well. The quick interview is below + some more pictures!

--What inspired you to take this picture?: I just wanted some nice pictures of my guy doll after giving him a new faceup (painting/customizing the faces). I was posing them around on my porch and areas around my house and just taking pictures and posing them.

Besides dolls, what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?: I take a lot of cosplay pictures at various conventions and things like that. I also like taking pictures of nature and stuff around me, if anything for drawing reference.

What type of dolls are those in the picture (Barbie, Blythe, Bratz, etc....)?: Ball Jointed Dolls, the girl is an Angel of Dream Juli (58 cm) and the guy is a Soom Spinel (62 cm). Both were entirely customized by me, with some bought clothing.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the picture?: Just photoshop. Namely, I did a little bit of cropping and then used some photoshop effects to spruce up the colors.

Awesome! Thanks a ton for the little interview; I appreciate it so very much - along with the friend request you've sent me (on GaiaOnline.com), lol. ;D Now this interview is going on my blog with the picture, alright?:
No problem! :3 I have more pictures of dolls somewhere. But I've switched computers 3 times, so I have to figure out where they're stored.--

Well, there you have it; the quick interview. I hope all of you enjoyed reading it, and there are more quick interviews to come, so stick around, and check out
Valkyrie.nu - the site the photos are credited to.
