"Love Will Always Find You"

This photo has been titled "Love Will Always Find You" - Aww! What a clever idea for a photo. I'm quite fascinated with everything about it! I was super pleased to interview her, the owner of this photo, since I was so interested in hearing what her replies would be. I really wanted to know what inspired her to take the picture, what else she enjoys taking pictures of, blah, blah, blah - so yeah! The quick interview is below + a bonus photo! Enjoy!

--What inspired you to take this picture? I love how beauty can be perceived in many different ways, I wanted to capture something where something as pretty and delicate as a doll can show that even if a person has a few cracks and missing pieces they can still be beautiful and accomplish love, or even find it in the most obscure way possible.

Besides dolls, what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?: I like taking pictures of unusual things or even completely normal things but somehow setting a eerie and disconnected aura. I specially like taking pictures of anything vintage or antique.

What type of dolls are those in the picture (Barbie, Blythe, Bratz, etc....)?: It's a porcelain doll.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the picture?: I played around with the lighting and contrast a bit, I sometimes use GIMP. Hope that's okay! :) All the best with ur blog.

It's %100 perfect. :D Thank you so much for your time. It's kind people like you who help me keep this blog going!: Thank you for having the passion to make such a blog :) It's been a pleasure. Looking foward to check it out ! x-- The End.

Tokio Hotel - again!!!!
Hey, you guys - guess what! I got an interview with the owner of those awesome Tokio Hotel dolls! She saw my post about them, and then gave me her email, therefore, I was able to contact her! I love how the interview went; I got to - not only ask her about the dolls, but about Tokio Hotel, and just music in general. The interview is below!

--What inspired you to photograph dolls?: Seeing other people's pictures of their dolls, and recognizing the possibilities they DIDN'T explore, generally.

What inspired you to take this picture?: Tom's owner (my BFF) have been talking about visiting Berlin for 2 years, mainly to do some research for a series of fics we're writing together. The fics include the Tokio Hotel boys, and most of our dolls are characters from the fics. When we finally got to go to Berlin, the 3 Tokio Hotel look-a-like boys were a natural choice to bring. We wanted to take pictures of the boys with well-known Berlin landmarks, and the wall pieces at Potsdamer Platz were a natural choice, as they are accessible, and most people know about the Wall. The boys pose came natural, as the wind was heavy that day, and leaning to the wall was the only way to make them stand ;-)

Besides dolls, what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?: Generally people I love, and little things that make my life rich, like foods, tiny objects I appreciate and rooms I like. I also love taking pics of my daughter when she's dressed up or helping me out with the dolls.

What type of dolls are those in the picture (Barbie, Blythe, Bratz, etc....)?: They are all ball jointed dolls in "Super Dollfie" (SD) size. Bill is a limited IpleHouse Mars from 2008. Tom is a Soom Lupin. Georg is a LeekeDoll Brown limited head on a Soom Super Gem body. Both Soom bodies have jointed hands.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the picture?: No. I may sometimes use PS to crop pics, but by default I never change anything before posting. This is mainly because I use a lot of time getting the angle and light right in the first place, but also because I don't trust my laptop screen to be correct, as there's no way of adjusting colours or light.

What's your favorite Tokio Hotel song?: I think World Behind My Wall and Dogs Unleashed at the moment, but it changes with my mood. The Humanoid City version of Noise, par example, is fantastic, but a bit noisy :-)

How long have you been a fan of Tokio Hotel for?: I discovered the band in a TV commercial in 2007, but I had seen pictures of Bill online before that. I got the Monsoon single for my daughter (born in 2000) since she liked the song, but I ended up getting all the albums, DVDs and books for myself.

What inspired you to photograph dolls?: Seeing other people's pictures og their dolls, and recognizing the possibilities they DIDN'T explore, generally.

Besides Tokio Hotel, what other bands do you listen to?: It varies a lot - I'm 35 years old, so I have a lot of former favourite bands to choose from. Still, at the moment, Lady Gaga, 30 seconds to mars and Madcon are some faves. I also listen to other Norwegian singers/bands, like Karpe Diem and Alexander Rybak. I'm pretty versatile, and I change music with my mood or what mood I want to create.-- The End.

"Counting cars on a crossroad; they come and go like you...."

Tokio Hotel!!!! Okay, seriously, I can't believe how much those dolls look like them; it's unbelievable. I would've loved to get an interview with the owner of this photo, but, unfortunately, I wasn't able to contact her. The only way I knew how to contact her was from DeviantArt.com - and I currently don't have an account on that website, so yeah. One of my GaiaOnline.com friends, with a DeviantArt account, was kind enough tho' to ask her if I could post her photo up on this blog, and the owner of the photo said "yes" and that she'd be honored. I'd like to give a huge thank you to her, idrilkeps.deviantart.com, for allowing me to post her awesome photo up - along with my Gaia pal for contacting her for me + linking me to the girl's DeviantArt, therefore, showing me this photo in the first place. If it wasn't for her, I probably would've never seen this photo - thanks, "Madeline"!

And to end this post....

A song.... by Tokio Hotel + more photos!

Very simple, very cute.

Isn't the picture simply adorable? I adore her outfit, hair, pose, expression - just everything! The drawing is just way cute.

Description (from the artist):
"One I did a few days ago. Drawn using only colored pencils. I am happy with how the colors go. This is probably my favorite of all I have drawn."

"Autumn Through the Leaves"

Photo Courtesy of GaiaOnline's member, x_xPockySaurx_x.
How beautiful is this photo? I just love the scenery. The owner was another nice member of GaiaOnline.com; oh, how I love that website. First, I asked her if I could have permission to post her poem on here, and - not only was she kind enough to let me do that, but she also allowed me to share one of her amazing doll photos with all of you. The poem is below + an interview! All new questions, all new answers.

Poem
: "The Life Of a Doll" - written by GaiaOnline.com's member, x_xPockySaurx_x.
"Stuck here in the lost and found,
Cold and abandoned, like a lost memory
Fallen into pieces from the unforgotten past
As time flies, all the dust fall

Sitting here waiting
With this sown on smile
Never knowing how long i may stay
Maybe forever, maybe a while

When finally, someone cares to pick me up
They hold me, gently to their heart
Pay a few cents, take me home
And sew me back into one part

From joyful laughter
into sorrowful tears
I'll be here forever and after
And conquer your fears

But soon I'll be outdated
Raggity and torn...." Click here to read the rest. While you're there, if you're a member of GaiaOnline.com, be sure to leave a comment! If you're not a member of GaiaOnline.com, no worries; leave a comment right here - I love comments. The interview (partially conversation) is below!

--Me: May I just ask you this; what inspired you to write that poem? Not only I - but I think my (blog) visitors would love to know, as well. :3

Her: My inspiration is simple, the love for my ball-jointed dolls. (:

Me: Aah! I want one of those dolls so badly. Ever since I started my blog, I just can't get over how awesome they seem. May I ask if you like to photograph them? Haha, I ask so many questions - apologies. xD

Her: I don't mind the questions at all. I'm actually having fun answering them. Yes, I do photograph them for my own personal enjoyment because they look so adorable. ;3; If you like, I can take a picture that you can feature in your blog as well. (:

Me: I know, they're too adorable, lol. May I ask if yours are custom made? Like, did you buy the wig, make-up, ETC? :) If I'd like? Haha, I'd love that! :D I mean, if it's not too much trouble, that is - because if it is, well then, that's alright; I'm thankful for the poem.

Her: I do have some custom made ones & others. It's not a hassle at all for a photograph I'm actually quite flattered at the moment. > A < http://i28.tinypic.com/2mes6xg.jpg This is my Sophia Rosy doll, yet to be named. This photo I titled,'Autumn through the leaves.' That dress, was handmade by me and I'm still so very fond with it!

Me: Oh yeah, that's %100 going on my blog, lol - amazing shot! :D I don't really know how much I should thank you, haha; thank you oh so very much! :) I'll show you the post once it's up.

Her:
I can't wait to see the post. (:--The End.

I know, I use "lol" way too much, along with too many smiley faces! Apologies, it's a habit; I try not to use them too much on this blog tho' - just while chatting with people.

Okay, first of all, I suggest all of you go to Deviantart and check out the rest of this girl's doll photos; her username is "ramendoodles". Now, back to the post. Really, I just love the realism in this photo. I've got to get one of those ball jointed dolls, because I just find them so fascinating. Okay, so the owner of the photo gave me permission to post it up, and you want to know what else they gave me? That's right, an interview. This girl was just so kind and friendly; I had fun interviewing her. The quick interview is below + some more photos!

--What inspired you to take this picture?:
The shape of the gazebo :D It had this nice round opening and reminded me of those old wooden roller coasters... so I sat Sakki (my doll) on it and played around with angles till I got a fun shot.

Besides dolls, what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?:
I really only take pics of my dolls (laughs). Aside from snapshots of my friends and family, you know, "normal" stuff. ;) The only thing I try to be artsy about is the doll photography. (nod)

What type of dolls are those in the picture (Barbie, Blythe, Bratz, etc....)?:
Sakki is an Asian ball-jointed doll: a Volks Super Dollfie Cute Kurenai to be exact.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the picture?:
Not for this one in particular. The only thing I ever do with PhotoShop for my photos is try to correct color or sometimes edit out stray hairs - those wigs can be tricky!! Hope I answered your questions to your satisfaction :D

Aww, you sure did, lol; thank you so very much! :D Really, I can't wait to post your amazing photos, along with this amazing interview, on my blog. :):
Sure no prob (nod)--The End.

"My lamp cast a lovely shadow upon it."

Photo Courtesy of GaiaOnline's member, "London Vere".
Another doll photo!
Token by another person!

I love the lighting on this photo; it brings a lot of attention to the doll's facial expression, and what an adorable doll she is. Also, I got another interview, but this time, it's with the owner of the doll you see here, in the purple ribbon. Same questions, but completely different answers. The quick interview is below!

--What inspired you to take this picture?: in high school i had to take a photograph of colour added to an object by light. i have always had that doll next to my bed side and my lamp cast a lovely shadow upon it.

Besides dolls, what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?: hm. i dont have any certain thing that i photograph. my photography is simple of my surroundings.

What type of dolls are those in the picture (Barbie, Blythe, Bratz, etc....)?: i believe it is called Porcelain. my grandmother made that doll for a fair contest back in her forties, so i do not think it has a specific manufacturer.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the picture?: i did not use any photoshop or photo enhancing softwares. but my camera is 14.7 megapixels.
(i am sorry if some of my english is improper. it is not my mother tongue)

Aww, no worries; your English is just fine. :) Thank you so much for your time, it's been a pleasure chatting with you, and you're cool with this "interview" going on my blog - correct, lol?: yes. thank you for letting me participate in your blog!-- The End.

The Lives of Dolls

Isn't this incredible? When I first saw this picture, I knew I wanted to share it on this blog, but I really didn't expect to figure out who the lovely picture rightfully belonged to, but luckily - I was wrong. It belonged to a very nice, young woman who was kind enough to, not only let me post up her picture, but to ask her a few questions about it, as well. The quick interview is below + some more pictures!

Valkyrie.nu

--What inspired you to take this picture?: I just wanted some nice pictures of my guy doll after giving him a new faceup (painting/customizing the faces). I was posing them around on my porch and areas around my house and just taking pictures and posing them.

Besides dolls, what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?: I take a lot of cosplay pictures at various conventions and things like that. I also like taking pictures of nature and stuff around me, if anything for drawing reference.

What type of dolls are those in the picture (Barbie, Blythe, Bratz, etc....)?: Ball Jointed Dolls, the girl is an Angel of Dream Juli (58 cm) and the guy is a Soom Spinel (62 cm). Both were entirely customized by me, with some bought clothing.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the picture?: Just photoshop. Namely, I did a little bit of cropping and then used some photoshop effects to spruce up the colors.

Awesome! Thanks a ton for the little interview; I appreciate it so very much - along with the friend request you've sent me (on GaiaOnline.com), lol. ;D Now this interview is going on my blog with the picture, alright?:
No problem! :3 I have more pictures of dolls somewhere. But I've switched computers 3 times, so I have to figure out where they're stored.--

Well, there you have it; the quick interview. I hope all of you enjoyed reading it, and there are more quick interviews to come, so stick around, and check out
Valkyrie.nu - the site the photos are credited to.
