Say "Cheese", Brailey!

>January 30, 2011

Doesn't this photo look like a paparazzi photo? I love it! It brings back memories of an old post I did way back in August titled "Nao's the Name". The doll's name is Brailey, and her (very nice) owner's name is Mika. There's a fun interview with Mika below - lets read!

--What inspired you to take this picture?: It was raining outside, and I loved the lighting through the windows. ;)

Besides dolls, what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?: Almost anything! My dogs, Myself, friends, other dolls, stuff like that!

What type of dolls are those in the picture (Barbie, Blythe, Bratz, etc....)?: She is a 27cm Obitsu Nano-Haruka.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the picture?: Nope, this is exactly how the picture turned out.

Random, but if you and Brailey could travel anywhere in the world - where would it be?: Oh, that's a tough one! I'd say Italy, because of all the different looks and smells. :3-- The End.

For more of Mika and her dolly friend, Brailey, visit Mika's DeviantArt gallery; it's filled with many other wonderful photos of Brailey.

What types of makeup (blush, lip gloss, etc)?: All cosmetics that I use: Under eye concealer - Inglot nr LC 1, Foundation - Faberlic nr 6047, Loose powder - Inglot nr 04, eyeshadow - Bourjois Ombre stretch nr 02, black eyeliner - Oriflame Stylo, lipstick - Inglot nr 910, and like a blush I use pink eyeshadow from MAC 120 palette. I wear also fake eyelashes from Inglot and individual eyelashes from Sephora.

Are you wearing some sort of contact lenses in the photo?: I'm not wearing contact lenses - it is Photoshoop effect (High Pass Sharpen). :)-- The End.

I wish the artist would've made a YouTube video of herself putting it on; that would've been real fun to watch! She posted a couple more photos tho', of this "doll makeup look", in her DeviantArt gallery - same lovely makeup, but different angles. The first angle is the one you see here; for the second angle, click here - and for the third angle, click here!

Colorful Emo Boy

>January 24, 2011

You guys, look what I came across!

Is this doll adorable or what? The hair, the makeup, the clothes - look at him! The doll's name is Kris. For plenty more photos, check out the owner of Kris' DeviantArt gallery - so-fiii. She has photos of other dolls that you might like on there, as well, so be sure to have a look! My very favorite thing about Kris is definitely his style because, like Kris' owner stated in the interview below, it's just so colorful and unique! Okay, I'm done rambling now; here's the interview!

--How are you?: thanks I'm fine^^

What inspired Kris' look?: seriously I don't know XD One day I decided that I want him to be a colorful boy with unique sense of fashion. Originally I wanted him to be way more emo but I'm really really happy that he has become like this. :3

What type of doll is Kris (Barbie, Blythe, Bratz, etc....)?: Kris is an Asian ball jointed doll (BJD) made of resin.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the Kris photos?: yes, I use PS CS4 (and wish that one day I will actually learn how to use it...>.<) Random, but if Kris had a favorite music band - which music band would it be?: hehe Kris actually has a favourite music band- his boyfriends' (oh yes :d).

And last but not least, this "interview" (lol) will be going on my blog, along with your amazing Kris photos - if that's alright with you?: yes and thank you so much.

"A pathway to a hidden world...."

>January 19, 2011
I really like this photo; it's so nice - and so was the photographer of it! Her name is Amanda, and she allowed me to share her wondrous photo with all of you, and I just had so many questions about it; I asked her if she'd be willing to answer a few of them, and yeah - she did. The interview is below! Please, read the whole thing; I loved it and think you guys will, as well.

What inspired you to take this picture?: The layout of the trees that seemed to look like a pathway to a hidden world.

Besides trees, what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?: I enjoy taking pictures of animals, people, architecture, spontaneous moments - emotional and emotive scenes.

What type of trees are those in the picture?: Coniferous, pine trees, maple, lots of shrubs.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for the picture?: I used Adobe Elements 5.0 & Nik Color Efex Pro 2.0 to achieve the desired effects.

Random, but what's your favorite time of the day (dawn, twilight, sunrise, morning, noon, afternoon, evening, sunset, twilight, dusk, night, or midnight)?: I prefer sunset and twilight hours. They tend to turn out the best overlays with the sky when doing outdoor/nature photography. Not too bright, not too dark and you can actually enhance the colors to change the mood at those hours.-- The End.

For more fascinating nature photos, be sure to visit Amanda's DeviantArt gallery. There was this one photo in there titled "Lost" that I really just loved. It was, like, another one of those hidden pathway photos, and I love photos like that; when I look at them, I don't know, they make me feel as if they're taking me into a far away world of something, so yeah - check out Amanda's gallery, and look for "Lost"; you've got to see it!

May I ask.... Is it "pls" or "plz"? You know, when you're text messaging someone - and you're trying to type fast. They both mean "Please", I suppose.... but I'm not sure which one's more common. What do you guys think?

Wonderful Wonderland

> January 13, 2011
In case you weren't aware the photo on the left is a drawing - crazy, right? It took her only five days.... I don't know what to say; no specific part stands out on this - the whole thing is perfect!

The artist told me that.... "The Wonderland painting was just done in acrylic paints and then I use some of my PrismaColor color pencils for fine detailing (like on the skin tones). I get them all at Michael's arts and craft store, usually I prefer the Americana or Folk Art brands for the acrylics." I cannot believe this was done by hand - simply incredible.

^ Interesting how so many different types of celebrities have dolls. I used to love my Christina Aguilera doll. Hey, Christina's dolls get their own separate wiki? ~~~> Link here.

Speaking of Christina....

How adorable is this drawing? It's a little strange, but I think that brings out the cuteness in it even more! Does that make sense? Anyway, do you see the details? Seriously, from head to toe - flawless!

Ko the Artist

> January 10, 2011
Checkers and stripes - I've never really thought of that. Those patterns look simply amazing together. The owner of this photo has been a member of DeviantArt.com for 7 years now - with the amazing status of 636 Deviations, 49,146 Comments, 470,729 Page views, 73 Scraps, 2 Critiques, 217 Forum Posts, and 2,247 Favorites! She goes by the names "Onnawufei", "Onnawaffle", just plain "Onna" or "Zim"; I like Zim. I was so thrilled to, not only have her permission to post up this wonderful photo, but also to get an interview with her. The interview is below!

--
What inspired you to take those pictures?: Well Ko's character is an artist, so I was trying to think of something she might think of, if that makes any sense. Somehow that ended in me drawing a checkerboard pattern on poster board, which took way longer than it should have. *laugh*

Besides dolls, what else do you enjoy taking pictures of?: I love taking pictures of animals, nature, architecture... most things really. I'm not a huge fan of taking people pictures but I'm game for pretty much anything else.

What type of doll is that in those pictures (Barbie, Blythe, Bratz, etc....)?: The doll in the picture is an Asian balljoint doll, specifically a CP Soony.

Did you use PhotoShop, or any other program/software, for those pictures?: I use Lightroom 2 and Photoshop CS3 to edit pretty much all my pictures.

Besides "checkers and stripes", what other patterns do you like?: I like spiral patterns. Spirals are probably my favorite... if that counts.

Random, but if the doll in the picture had a favorite color - what would it be?: Ko's the kind of girl who would tell you a favorite color one week, but tell you a different one a week later. This week I'd say her favorite color is yellow. *giggle*-- The End.

Bonus photo!

>January 07, 2011

Today, I stumbled across a very nice girl on DeviantArt.com - who happened to be an amazing artist. She was so nice that she allowed me to share her artwork with you guys!

Words from the artist, about the heart sketches, below (written in lavender).
"The hearts I draw on lined paper were all done during class. If it were any other time I would have it on normal paper. They all tell secret stories of my life. They all mean a lot to me."

If you care to see more of this artist's beautifully detailed sketches, please, visit her DeviantArt gallery - XxWolfie--GirlxX. ♥

Nature Look

The owner, of these dolls, claims to know two girls who look somewhat like this. These dolls actually do look more human than the usual Blythe dolls; I simply adore their nature look.
